12mm Laminates
Maru Flooring carries the MOST Water-Resistant Laminate on the market today from Inovar. Inovar is the only laminate flooring product that uses tropical hardwoods for its core. The hardwoods used in the laminate boards are extremely resistant to humidity and moisture, due to the wood being more dense and containing natural oils within the wood itself. All other laminates use softwood fibers such as pine that can absorb up to 28% of moisture or more. Whereas Inovar laminates absorb less than 10% of moisture. In addition to its superior water-resistance, the laminates are manufactured with a heavy Aluminum Oxide coating that protects the flooring against scuffs, scratches and wear.

Laminate flooring is generally preferred over carpet for a healthier living environment, because it does not breed dust-mites and other harmful micro organisms that can cause allergies.
Inovar’s 12mm is the newest addition to the laminate world. It comes in the following dimensions: 12mm x 5.4” x 3.94’. This new style of laminate has some advantages that the 8.3mm does not. This style of laminate sounds more like a real solid wood floor when walking on it, due to its thicker core. The 12mm comes in a formed edge with an embossed top layer which resembles the look of a solid wood floor. This product is AC 5 rated, which is the highest durability rating and can be used for commercial projects. The factory recommends gluing the joints for added stability.
